On commission from the Norwegian Oil Industry Association, Mintra developed the OLF Basic Safety Course.  This basic safety course is obligatory for everyone working offshore on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The course consists of both theory and practice.  The theory is acquired using e-learning, and practical training takes place at an OLF-approved safety centre in Norway.

The theory portion contains the following main topics:

• Responsibilities and Duties
• HSE Culture
• Protective Equipment
• Emergency Preparedness
• Heliport/Safety
• Exam

Course participants are required to have passed the exam before arriving at the safety centre.  Information about course progression and completed exams is stored on OLF Trainingportal - the oil industry's competency portal for e-learning courses.
